This policy describes how Cartavie ("the App") handles your data. Cartavie is an iPad app for handwritten note-taking, image insertion, and PDF export of paper-style booklets.

Short version

  • We do not collect any personal data.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
  • We do not have user accounts or a server.
  • All your notes, drawings, and images stay on your iPad.

What data the App handles

1. Drawings, images, and notebook content

  • Created entirely by you.
  • Stored locally inside the App's sandbox on your iPad.
  • Never transmitted to us or to any third party by the App.

2. AI-generated images (fairy painter feature)

  • Image generation uses Apple's Image Playground framework, which runs on-device on supported Apple Silicon iPads with iPadOS 18 or later.
  • Your keyword and the generated image stay on your iPad — they are not transmitted to Cartavie's developer, and image generation does not contact a server.
  • Cartavie does not see, log, or store your keywords or generated images.
  • Apple's own privacy policy governs the Image Playground framework. Please refer to Apple's documentation for the most current details about Apple Intelligence and on-device processing.

3. Photos you choose to insert

  • The App requests access to your Photo Library only when you tap the gallery icon.
  • The App accesses only the photos you explicitly pick.
  • Selected photos are copied into the notebook's local storage on your iPad.

4. Exported PDFs

  • Created on your iPad when you tap Share.
  • Stored wherever you choose to save them (Files, AirDrop, Mail, etc.).
  • The App does not transmit them anywhere by itself.

What we do NOT collect

  • Name, email, phone number, address.
  • IP address, device ID, advertising identifiers.
  • Location data.
  • Crash logs (Apple may collect these via App Store / TestFlight diagnostics; you can opt out in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics).
  • Usage statistics or behavioral data.

Third-party services

Cartavie uses the following first-party Apple frameworks. These are part of iPadOS and operate under Apple's privacy policy:

  • PencilKit — handles Apple Pencil input locally.
  • PhotosUI — provides the photo picker UI.
  • Image Playground (iPadOS 18+) — local image generation for the fairy painter feature.
  • PDFKit / UIGraphicsPDFRenderer — local PDF generation.

Cartavie does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children

Cartavie is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, the App is compliant with COPPA, GDPR-K, and similar regulations regarding children's privacy.

Your rights (GDPR / Swiss DSG / CCPA)

Because we do not collect or store any personal data on a server, there is no data to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. All your data lives on your iPad and is fully under your control. You may delete it at any time by deleting the App or by using Settings → Remove current page inside the App.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is ever updated, the new version will be published at https://cartavie.com/privacy/. Changes affecting data handling will be summarised at the top of this document.
